I was born and raised in Toronto's West End, just north of Bloor West Village, in the home that my family has lived in for over three decades. In the 25 years that I lived there (I know, I overstayed my welcome, but I was saving for a down payment!) I witnessed the joys of home ownership, family and community.
I absolutely love Toronto and consider myself a west end girl through and through. I've lived in a few different neighbourhoods of this amazing city, including Queen West, Parkdale and my now neighbourhood of Queensway Village in Etobicoke. My partner Joe I recently purchased our first home and we are loving every minute of suburban life with our little rescue Chihuahua Buttons.
Before getting into real estate I had planned on becoming a dietician and had received my Bachelors Degree in Nutrition at the University of Guelph. I was drawn to the program because of my love of food, fitness and health, but also because I always knew that I wanted a career where I could help people and have the opportunity to work with clients one on one. Although I am still passionate about nutrition and loved what I was doing, there was always a small part of me that was drawn to real estate.
In the spring of 2009, right after graduating, Liz and I were seated next to each other at a family brunch where we started chatting about her business and how much she loved what she was doing. I knew then and there that this was the path I was meant to follow and I literally started working with Liz the next day. Seven years later and the rest is history.
Learning this business first hand by watching Liz work with clients and the way she knows the market like the back of her hand was inspiring. She's taught me everything I know about this business, and I'm honoured to call her a friend, mentor and now partner.
This business can be crazy at times, with so many highs and lows, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Seeing the joy in our clients' faces when they find the home of their dreams, win a bidding war or get an amazing offer for their homes is the best feeling and makes it all worth it.
When I'm not running around with clients or working on the next project, you can find me busting a move at Zumba, cooking in my kitchen with a glass of wine or watching reality TV, my guilty pleasure.
